AERA, APA, and NCME Announce the Open Access Release of the Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing

“Washington, March 1, 2021—The American Educational Research Association (AERA), American Psychological Association (APA), and the National Council for Measurement in Education (NCME) are pleased to announce that the current edition of Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing is now available as a free download in English and Spanish. Readers have the option of downloading the book as a pdf, a pdf eBook, and an ePub eBook.

Published collaboratively by the three organizations since 1966, the book represents the gold standard in guidance on testing in the United States and in many other countries. The current edition was published in 2014. The previous edition, published in 1999, is also freely available on the Standards website. The print version of the book is still available for sale.”

QUINT Classroom Observation Webinar Series

In response to recent calls in the field, the QUINT center is pleased to announce a new monthly webinar series on classroom observation systems as a tool for understanding teaching quality and improving teaching.  This series will allow researchers from across the world to share their work on classroom observation systems, opening dialogues about these important tools.  We invite you to learn more and sign up for the series’ mailing list here. If you are interested in presenting your work, please email Mark.White@ils.uio.no with a proposed title and abstract.  The inaugural seminar will be held on March 4^th at 4-5pm Central European Time (10-11am ET).  Bryant Jensen will be sharing his work on Classroom Assessment of Sociocultural Interactions (CASI) with a talk entitled: Cultural aspects of teaching: Concepts and measures to improve equitable learning opportunities for minoritized students.
