Resources for Teachers
Below are issues that we have used in the past during Dining with Democracy events. Each issue contains materials for a Tug of War discussion: a slide deck, a teacher script that follows the slides, and an abbreviated version of the script for students. Some issues contain additional discussion activity resources, such as materials for Structured Academic Controversies (SAC). Teachers are welcome to modify these resources for classroom use.
The Deliberation Activity Teacher Guide provides necessary background information, lesson pacing suggestions, and additional information about classroom discussion and resources.
