Organization Tools
- Diigo – A social bookmarking tool that allows you to save, tag, and annotate online resources, and then share with others
- Feedly – Compiles news feeds from online sources that the user can then customize and share with others
- Flipboard – A mobile app that delivers stories and information to you based on your interests and displays them in a visual feed. Create your own magazine from news feeds and social media content. Create alone or collaboratively, on a mobile device or on a laptop/desktop
- Hootsuite – A social media management tool that allows you to keep track of all of your accounts in one place
- Pocket – Allows you to save articles, videos, links, etc. to view later
- Wunderlist – Create to-do list and sublists, set due dates and reminders, share your lists with others, and sync with devices
Other Classroom Tools
- ThingLink – Make interactive images and videos (embed questions, embed videos, etc.)
- SuperTeacher Tools – Jeopardy, Who Wants to be a Millionaire, etc. Put in your own questions. Keeps score.
- Decibel X – App to show how loud the room is – projects the volume to keep students aware of keeping their volume lower. Can have competitions between classes. iPod Touch or other iOS devices
- Jeopardy Labs – Jeopardy Games – preset questions to choose from or create your own Jeopardy game
- Learn Zillion – Has lesson plans and activities – Create a class log in – Common Core Connections – all disciplines – by grade level – Folders with lessons, activities, etc. Assign to students
- LibGuides – Search the community of guides for collections of resources or use the guides to find specific authors. Check out the “Best of” resources as well
- Class Dojo – Behavior Management – HS or young ages – give positive and negative points for different behaviors (i.e. positive for sharing in discussion and negative for sleeping in class). Can make it a competition if they have good points.
