National Resources

Local Resources
NC Peer Warmline [855-PEERS-NC] is a free, private number you can call anytime to speak with someone who has personal experience with mental health or substance use challenges. This number can be utilized for several topics; you do not have to be in a crisis to call. They offer a listening ear for any emotions you may have, including sadness, loneliness, anxiety, or stress.
HopeLine NC [919-231-4525] or [877-235-4525] is a free, confidential number you can call or text 24/7 to connect with trained listeners for any crisis that disrupts your life. HopeLine provides a non-judgmental space, crisis resolution, and referrals to community resources.

If you’re interested in supporting your community and raising awareness around suicide prevention, below are several events taking place in North Carolina throughout September.
From Darkness into Hope: Suicide Awareness
What: Veterans Affairs hosts a health fair to raise awareness and provide support for suicide prevention to the community. Participants can interact with local organizations, take part in activities that cultivate healing and growth, and access mental health information.

American Foundation for Suicide Prevention [AFSP]
What: Community walks that encourage open conversation about mental health and suicide prevention. All funds raised support AFSP’s mission in research, advocacy, and education for those affected by suicide.

Walk For All Mankind: Suicide Prevention Fundraiser
What: A charity walk that focuses on raising suicide prevention and mental health awareness to support students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in North Carolina. You can sign up to participate in volunteering or engaging to walk for $25.
When: September 27, 2025
